About Us: Formed in 2004, Northern Flight is a badminton club based in Manchester. While we seek to maintain our identity as a predominantly gay, lesbian and bisexual club, we are generally open and welcoming to everyone of a suitable playing standard. We are committed to playing good, competitive badminton at club nights, so that we may improve our standard of play and prepare ourselves ultimately for representing Manchester in the many international GLBT badminton tournaments each year. We are also committed to having a lot of fun along the way! Playing Standard: In order to ensure that our members get the competitive badminton that they expect, we do have a minimum playing standard for the club: We are unable to take beginners, and our entry standard will usually be of international tournament standard B- or higher (roughly equivalent to good improver standard). But don't let that put you off coming down and giving us a try - we would be very happy to see you! If the club is suitable for you, we will be pleased to invite you to become a member. If not, we will be happy to point you in the direction of other LGBT badminton clubs in the area which would be more appropriate. |
