National and International Tournament Success

10 members of Northern Flight (Lynette, Simone, Steve, Eddie, Dipesh, Chee, Paul S, Nick, Alister and Mike) descended upon the pleasant, cobbled-street Belgian city of Antwerp for the eleventh EuroGames in Antwerp in July 2007.

We claimed three medals in the men's singles, ladies doubles and mixed doubles events.

There were also some notable performances which just missed out on a medal. Both Steve/Eddie and Alister/Mike  came fourth in the 'A' and 'B-' Mens Doubles competitions respectively. Moreover, Dipesh and Simone reached the QF of the 'A' Mixed Doubles in their first outing together, and Paul/ Dennis (Mr Antwerp!) reached the QF in the 'B+' Mens Doubles.

Antwerp will be remembered for its quaint city squares, fruit beers, and a fire-eater at the end-of-competition party who had a habit of dropping his burning stakes into the crowd ....
