Of all the international tournaments we have been to, surely the first World OutGames in Montreal 2006 will go down as the most memorable and magical. About ten representatives from Northern Flight travelled across the Atlantic to represent Manchester in the badminton competition, which lasted for five days!

The results were phenomenal! We claimed 8 medals in singles, doubles and mixed events, in both the ladies' and men's categories.

In fact, Northern Flight were represented in four out of five of the 'A' Finals!

The Results were as follows:

'A' Ladies Singles Rikke GOLD
'A' Ladies Doubles Lynette and Rikke SILVER Click here to download medal ceremony (save to your computer)
'A' Mixed Doubles Steve and Corine (NED) GOLD Click here to download medal ceremony (save to your computer)

But Montreal was not only about badminton: it was about culture, celebration of diversity, social cohesion and ..... an opportunity to wear stupid pink glasses at the La Vie en Rose party!

The costumes they made us wear at the entrance to the party were really not fair ... but we did our best to live up to expectations!
